The Presbyterian Vocational Institute was established by the Presbytery’s Women’s Fellowship as part of its responsibility to provide social services to the community to train people, especially young women, in employable vocational skills.
As unemployment has become headache in our society, the establishment of the vocational school is timely. This has helped young women who otherwise would have ended up on the street engaging in social vices and looking for non-existence jobs.
The Institute offers courses in Catering, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, and Fashion and Dress-Making.
The Institute has seasoned tutors both from industry and academia, then resulting in excellent student performance, the winning of awards and requests for consultancy services.
The society has been very quick to tap the skills of the school which is evident in the many consultancy jobs offered it in skills training.
